The year 2008 is bringing again good prospects for
Ocean Energy exploitation.
It should be noticed that this issue of our Newsletter
includes projects regarding the conversion of three
different ocean energy sources: wave energy, tidal
energy and salinity gradient energy.
It is interesting to
note that the Spanish project to convert wave energy
using Oscillating Water Column converters imbedded
into a breakwater is a new application of this type of
systems that presents the advantages of decreasing the
investment and avoiding the need to look into the
environmental impact caused by the coastal structure.
